The Logical Choice
At its core, this piece uses symbolic (sentential) logic as a medium for self-definition. The upper half of the card presents a formal logical equation — an existential statement that asserts the conditions of my creative identity. The lower half translates that equation into plain language: a reflection on the paradox of being both a creative and a “philosopher.”
The design borrows the structure of formal logic — where truth values determine existence — and reinterprets it through the lens of brand identity. Each symbol and predicate functions as both a literal component of logic and a metaphor for self-expression.
The equation follows the principles of quantification: Ǝx (“there exists an x”) and Ɐy (“for all y”) establish the framework. The caret (^) denotes conjunction, the diamond (◇) represents condition, and the tilde (~) indicates negation. These symbols work together to form a statement whose validity rests on the alignment of creative and philosophical truth.
In essence, the card is a visual and linguistic proof of existence — a conceptual artifact that translates logic into identity. The statement concludes that if the conditions of creativity and philosophy are met, then I exist — and am not yet employed by the prospective client.
